| A father and a son went to town
together. The father rode on a donkey, the son followed behind. Someday saw them
and said, "How does he have the heart to let the child run behind while he himself
rides on a donkey?" Hearing this, the father hurriedly got down, and let his son
mount the donkey. A while later, he heard somebody say, "It's unreasonable that
the son rides a donkey while the father has to walk." So the father rode on the
donkey together with his son. Soon somebody said, "How cruel for two people to
ride on one donkey!" The father and son then got down and both walked behind the
donkey. Suddenly they heard somebody say, "How stupid to have a donkey and not
ride it!" This time they found a rope, tied the donkey's legs and slung it on
a pole, which they used to carry it into town. While walking, they shouted to
get people out of the way: "Beware of the beast!" |
